Lifewise (SA) Pty Ltd, trading as Lifewise Network Care Adelaide
Last reviewed: September 2026
Lifewise Network Care Adelaide holds personal and health information belonging to the people who come here for care. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, where it is kept, and what you can do about it.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Health service providers are covered by that Act regardless of the size of the business, so these obligations apply to this practice in full.

This is a single-practitioner practice. Any question about your information comes directly to Ben.
What we collect
Depending on your involvement with the practice, we may hold:
- Your name, date of birth, address, phone number and email address.
- Health information: your history, what brought you in, examination findings, care notes, and how you respond over time.
- Emergency contact details, and details of other practitioners involved in your care where relevant.
- Payment records, and private health fund details where you provide them.
- Your appointment history and any correspondence between us.
If you only visit the website and never contact us, none of this is collected. See “Our website” below for what happens in that case.
How we collect it
Almost everything comes directly from you: on your intake form, in conversation during visits, by phone, by email, or through the enquiry form on our website.
Occasionally we may receive information from another practitioner involved in your care. That happens only with your consent, or where the law permits it.
Where it is kept
Clinical notes are kept as paper files, held securely at the practice.
Your contact details, appointment history and account information are kept in Front Desk, practice management software running on a secured computer at the practice rather than on an internet service.
A backup copy of the Front Desk data is saved to Dropbox after each clinic session, so that your records survive a hardware failure. Dropbox is a United States company and this backup is stored on its servers. See “Information stored overseas” below.
Why we need it
To provide chiropractic care and assess how you are responding to it. To manage appointments and accounts. To contact you about your care. To meet our professional, regulatory and legal obligations, including those of the Chiropractic Board of Australia and AHPRA. And to run the practice.
When we share it
We do not sell your information.
We do not send marketing email. We contact you about your own care and appointments, and that is all. If this ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
We may share your information with:
- Other practitioners involved in your care, with your consent.
- Dropbox, as described above, as the storage service holding our backup.
- Your private health fund, where relevant to a claim.
- Anyone you have asked us to share it with.
- Government authorities, where required or authorised by law.
Our website
The website is deliberately built to collect as little as possible.
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. Plausible sets no cookies, collects no personal information, and does not follow you across other websites or devices. Nothing is shared with advertising networks. We see aggregate figures only: how many people visited, which pages they read, which search engine or site sent them, and general country, browser and device type. We cannot identify you from any of it.
This is why the site shows no cookie consent banner. There are no tracking cookies to consent to.
Plausible stores these statistics on servers in the European Union.
Typefaces. The site loads a typeface from Google’s font service. Your browser requests that file directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information each time a page loads. No cookie is set for this, and we receive nothing from it.
Enquiry form. The form on our Book Now page collects the details you enter so that we can respond to you. These submissions are sent to us by email and are not stored in the website’s database. Please don’t put detailed health information into a web form — bring it to your visit, or raise it by phone. Anything you do send may become part of your practice record if it relates to your care.
Information stored overseas
Four of the services we rely on involve your information going outside Australia:
- Dropbox, which stores the backup of our Front Desk data. This contains your contact details and appointment history.
- Yahoo Mail. Our email address is hosted in Australia, but messages are forwarded to a Yahoo Mail account so that all correspondence can be managed in one place. Yahoo is a United States company and mail is stored on its servers. This includes anything you send us by email, and anything submitted through the enquiry form on our website.
- Plausible Analytics, which stores anonymous website statistics in the European Union. This data does not identify you.
- Google. Our website loads a typeface from Google’s font service, so Google receives your IP address and basic browser information each time a page loads. Google is a United States company. No cookie is set for this, and nothing about your visit is stored by us.
Where information is held outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to see that it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Seeing your records, and correcting them
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is wrong, incomplete or out of date. Just ask, using the contact details above.
We will respond within a reasonable time. There are limited circumstances where the law allows us to refuse access. If that happens, we will tell you why in writing.
Making a complaint
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first. We will acknowledge it, look into it, and give you a written response, usually within 30 days.
If our response doesn’t satisfy you, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
Website: oaic.gov.au
Phone: 1300 363 992
Keeping information safe, and disposing of it
We protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access through secure physical storage of paper files, password protection and access controls on practice computers, and the confidentiality obligations that apply to a registered health practitioner.
We keep health records for seven years from the date of the last entry. For anyone seen as a child, we keep records until they turn 25. This applies to both the paper clinical files and the Front Desk records.
When information is no longer needed and we are not required to keep it, we destroy it securely or permanently de-identify it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our systems, obligations or the law change. The current version is always on this page.
