How it started

From an early age I was very curious about how our bodies work. I was fascinated by how all the cells, tissues, organs and systems work together in harmony to keep us alive and healthy. Through some health challenges in my late teens I found Chiropractic, and was impressed by the link between the spine, nervous system and overall health. I really connected with the idea that the way to health is by seeing our bodies as a whole and working to release the blocks that stop them working naturally.

After five years of intensive university training in Chiropractic I came across Network Care. I loved how it makes sense about why bodies wind up and “go wrong”, and that we’re fundamentally not well adapted to the challenges and stresses of our modern world. I also found it the most effective technique for me in helping people’s bodies unwind and live to their potential.

Lifewise beginnings

After graduating at the end of 2005, I worked for a year in the practice of Ken Hull, a master Chiropractor who was the first Network practitioner in South Australia. At the end of 2006 I established Lifewise in Adelaide CBD. The practice was initially in Gilles Street for seventeen years, before moving to the current Carrington Street location in 2023.

The practice environment is relaxed and peaceful, so it is a naturally de-stressing place, a small step away from the challenges and pace of life.

The name Lifewise reflects that our bodies and lives are interconnected, and that it’s the inner wisdom of our bodies that allows us to heal and thrive.

How I work

My approach is to first understand you fully. We take a complete history before any hands-on work begins, not a brief intake form, but a proper conversation about where you are, what you’ve been through, and what you’re hoping for. The care that follows is shaped by that conversation and by what your body shows during assessment.

Network Spinal is the approach I have used for the past 20+ years. It is a gentle, precise method that works with the nervous system to release stored tension patterns and support the body’s capacity for self-regulation and self-correction.

I have extensive experience across the full range of life stages, from pregnancy, newborns,  young children, working adults, older people, and even those in the final months of life.

Beyond the practice

Outside of work I believe in practising what I preach which is leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I enjoy reading, keeping fit by bushwalking and rock-climbing, and eating well. I also trained as a classical singer and have sung professionally with some of Australia’s leading choirs and vocal ensembles.

Home life

I have four children, Tom, Ilsa, Carys and Lucy who keep us very busy. We also have two lively dogs, Maple and Harvey!

What patients say

Patients who have been coming to Lifewise for years (even decades!) often describe a similar experience: they arrived with a specific concern and found something broader. They feel properly listened to and discovered a new relationship with their body that flows into their whole lives. That patients return over years, bring their family and refer their friends and colleagues is one of most satisfying things about practice.

Come on in

The first visit is largely a conversation. We will take the time to understand your history, what you’re carrying, and what you’re hoping for. Then you get to experience your first session. No referral needed, no obligation beyond that first appointment.
